How Blogo works
Credits, plans and limits
One new article costs 10 credits. The credits are set aside when writing starts, kept once the draft is saved, and returned if no draft is delivered. The plans and prices below are published, but checkout is switched off: Blogo is in a free, invite-only pilot and nothing can be bought yet.
What a credit pays for
A credit is the unit Blogo charges in, and only one thing is charged: a new article. The 10 credits cover the research, the draft, the fact check, the images and the WordPress draft. Choosing a topic, drafting and confirming the writing plan, answering the interview questions and the checks themselves are not charged separately.
- The 10 credits are set aside at the moment the writing step starts, before the writer runs.
- Once the draft is saved, the credits are spent. That is still true if a later check holds the draft for you to fix, because the draft was delivered.
- If writing fails before a draft is saved, the credits go back to your balance automatically.
- Retrying the same write does not charge twice. The charge is tied to the article, not to the attempt.
- Asking for a full rewrite of an article that was already delivered is a new article’s worth of work and costs another 10 credits. Blogo never starts one on its own.
The plans
These are the prices shown on the pricing page. Every plan buys credits; the article counts are simply the credits divided by ten.
- Starter: $39 a month for 100 credits, about 10 articles.
- Growth: $79 a month for 300 credits, about 30 articles.
- Premium: $149 a month for 600 credits, about 60 articles.
- Yearly billing: Starter $374, Growth $758, Premium $1,430 a year, for 1,200, 3,600 and 7,200 credits. That is twelve months at 20% less.
- Credit packs, bought once with no subscription: 200 credits for $109, 600 credits for $299, 1,500 credits for $599.
How long credits last
Plan credits belong to the billing period. They reset when the plan renews, and unused plan credits do not roll over. Credits from a pack stay available for 12 months from purchase.
Packs cost more per article than the Growth and Premium plans on purpose. They are for a one-off push; a plan is the better price for steady publishing.
What is not open yet
Checkout is switched off in the product itself. The pricing page shows the plans with a “Join the free pilot” button instead of a payment button, and the payment endpoint refuses to create a checkout.
During the pilot, access is by invitation, credits are not deducted, and the amount of writing each invited account can do is set by the Blogo team. No card is asked for.
When checkout opens, the rules on this page are the ones the code already implements. Treat the prices as planned prices until then.
Spend limits that protect the account
Separately from credits, Blogo has hard ceilings on what it will spend with model and search providers. They are safety limits, not prices, and they apply in the pilot too.
- Per article: one article cannot keep consuming paid work past its ceiling, however many repairs are requested.
- Per account: a rolling 24-hour ceiling across all your articles.
- Across the service: a rolling 24-hour ceiling for all users together.
- The limit is checked before each paid step, not added up afterwards. When one is reached, the step does not start and you see a message such as “Daily writing budget exhausted. Try again later.” Nothing is charged for work that did not run.
- A check that holds a draft never triggers another paid writing run by itself. A paid retry is always a button a person presses.
Credits and the API
The REST API and the MCP server use the same credits through the same flow: 10 credits when an article is written, nothing per call. Listing sites and reading articles is free. Requests are limited to 60 a minute per API key.
